Cornwall and Devon cricketers suffered a frustrating start to their Minor Counties season thanks to the April showers.
Cornwall's MCCA Trophy group one opener against Oxfordshire was abandoned yesterday without a ball bowled at St Austell as the outfield was unplayable following heavy overnight rain.

Gloucestershire Cricket begin their summer campaign warm-up with a pre-season friendly against Cardiff University at the County Ground, Bristol on March 21 and 22 (1100 start).
Gloucestershire then host Glamorgan in a 40-over one-day contest on Friday March 23 (1100). Entrance to the ground - on all three days - is free.

Sri Lankan spin bowling sensation Muttiah Muralitheran is returning to Gloucestershire Cricket for this summer’s 2012 Friends Life Twenty20 competition.
Murali joined the club last season and played in all 15 of Gloucestershire’s t20 games, proving a huge attraction and finishing joint top wicket-taker with 12.

St Just won through to the Barbados Cockspur Club T20 National Finals Day in the most dramatic fashion in Surrey yesterday.
The regional final against Valley End took five hours to complete due to rain delays. The Surrey side made 148 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Truro regained top spot in the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier Cricket League despite starting yesterday's play in fourth spot.
Incredibly, with three games remaining, six points cover the top five teams.
