NATIONAL COUNTIES Six more free-to-see games today

Staffordshire, who won the National Counties T20 competition last week, successfully adapted to the longer 50 overs format by beating Wales NC 55 by runs in Group Four at Port Talbot. 

Wicketkeeper Callum Hawkins impressed as an opening batter with a 68-ball 50 which, with useful contributions from the in-form Nils Priestley (27) and captain James Kettleborough (25) helped Staffordshire to 188.

NCCA-Logo MasterThe National Counties Championship regular season reaches its conclusion today with 13 of the 16 counties in action still having plenty to play for. 

The two places in next month’s final at West Bromwich Dartmouth, which involve the respective winners of Eastern and Western Division One, have yet to be decided as have the two counties that will be relegated and the two that will be promoted to replace them as winners of Eastern and Western Division Two!

Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket LeagueThe fifth season of Bond Timber sponsorship of the Cornwall Cricket League is due to get underway on Saturday or at least some of it, weather permitting.

Outside of the Premier League matches throughout the season are permitted to be rescheduled, providing suitable notice is given.

NCCA-Logo MasterWales NC today take a three-day match to Panteg CC in Griffithstown for the first time having switched their Western Division Two match against Wiltshire from Usk. 

Wales have previously used Panteg for white ball matches and the ground was used as a home venue by Monmouthshire in the Minor Counties Championship, the last time in 1932.

Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket LeagueThe Bond Timber Cornwall Premier League season is set for a thrilling finale this afternoon with three teams, separated by just five points, fighting to avoid the one relegation spot.

Penzance won the title, for the third successive season, with two games to spare so all the final day interest will be at the foot of the table where Truro and Werrington are tied on 147 points and Callington have a five-point advantage.

NATIONAL COUNTIES TROPHY Semi-final draw and venues

Finchampstead and Great & Little Tew Cricket Club have been chosen as the venues for the National Counties Trophy semi-finals on Sunday August 7. 

Defending champions Berkshire will take on Dorset at Finchampstead Park with Oxfordshire hosting Cumbria at Ledwell Road in Great Tew.
