Exeter City Football Club crestExeter City have completed the re-registration of midfielder David Noble, who will be available to play for Paul Tisdale's Grecians when Northampton Town visit St James Park in League Two on Saturday.

Noble rejoined Exeter from Oldham Athletic on a 93-day emergency loan in September, having previously been on the books at City between 2010 and 2012.  That loan spell and his contract with the Latics ended the day after Exeter’s 2-0 home win against Carlisle United last month.

NON LEAGUE Larkhall eye Western League double

Bath club Larkhall Athletic clinched the Western League championship following a 4-1 midweek win over Hallen.
 
Larkhall’s home victory – courtesy of goals from Tyler Sibbick 2, Nat Auckland and Steve Bridges – secured the championship and also meant Athletic hit their target of 100 goals with six league games remaining.

Bath City’s reward for a 2-0 win at Bristol Rovers is an FA Trophy second round trip to Conference South rivals Wealdstone FC on Saturday January 10.

2008 finalists Torquay United – now managed by Chris Hargreaves, who played in central midfield for the Gulls at Wembley – host Conference South Bromley in round two following a 5-0 victory at Bishop’s Stortford, the biggest first round win. Bromley beat Leiston FC 2-0 to reach the last 32.

DEVON DERBY Tisdale changing shape was game changer

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale, courtesy & copyright Dave RowntreeExeter City boss Paul Tisdale realised within 90 seconds he would have to make half-time changes to his team as the Grecians countered from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at League 2 play-off chasing Plymouth last night.

Tisdale said: “We didn’t have the numbers forward in the first half and we changed the formation in the second half and pressed the ball higher. I knew 90 seconds into the game we needed to change the shape.

Sheridan attention focused on Plymouth promotion

Plymouth Argyle boss John Sheridan has set his sights on promotion from League Two next season.

Sheridan said: “I have got improve on this season and there’s only one place we can finish if we are eighth, ninth or whatever this season. We have got to finish in the top seven next season.

Passionate Plymouth Argyle boss John Sheridan was frustrated by the greens’ 2-1 Devon derby defeat, saying : “I was very pleased with the first half, I thought we started well and created chances.
