torquay united logoRotherham United's 3-0 FA Cup win at Notts County last night has a spin-off effect on Torquay United.

The Millers' cup success means they now visit League Two rivals Aldershot Town in the third round on Saturday January 5, when they were fixtured to travel to Plainmoor to play Martin Ling's Gulls in a league match.

SW FOOTBALL Fixtures update as temperature drops

The big freeze has put scores of football matches on ice tonight – including a dozen or more non-League fixtures in the South West.

At the time of posting this update, Cheltenham Town's eagerly anticipated all ticket FA Cup replay against Hereford United (Edgar Street 1945) was unaffected by the big chill as was the top of the table Conference clash between Newport County and Paul Buckle's Luton Town however Rodney Parade did undergo a 1730 pitch inspection by referee Rob Whitton.

LEAGUE CUP: HOME START FOR 6 SOUTH WEST SIDES

Bristol City, Cheltenham Town, Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle, Torquay United and Yeovil Town have all received home draws in the Football League Cup first round.
