TORQUAY UNITED appoint Nicholson player-manager

Torquay United FC have appointed popular former left back Kevin Nicholson as their new player-manager.
The National League side announced the appointment of 34-year-old Bay-based Nicholson this morning at 10.
Derby-born Nicholson started the season at National League South side Bath City, where he has been a first team regular, starting all 11 league matches for the Romans and Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup win at Bodmin Town.
He spent last season at Kidderminster Harriers following a successful seven year spell at Torquay, where he made more than 300 appearances after joining them from Forest Green Rovers in summer 2007.
Nicholson takes over a Torquay side 21st in the 24 team National League top flight following three defeats in a row.
His first match in charge of the Gulls will be next Saturday at home to Aldershot Town FC followed by another home game, against Dover Athletic FC a week tomorrow.
