SILVER LINING UP FOR BRISTOL BOW TONIGHT

bristol rugby club crestBristol Rugby head coach Liam Middleton makes one change from his winning XV for tonight’s RFU Championship match against Nottingham at the Memorial Stadium (1945 KO).

Louis Silver earns his first competitive start for Bristol at scrum-half as the home side bid to build on last Saturday’s 17-15 success at Bedford.

Centre Ben Mosses and former Scarlets hooker Rhys Lawrence retain their places after impressive displays at Goldington Road, while Ross Johnston passes a fitness test to be named among the replacements.

Jack Tovey and George Watkins, who top Bristol’s try scoring charts with four touch downs, are included in a youthful backline. Junior Fatialofa (hamstring) and Mark Davies (back) miss out after failing to recover from injuries that kept them out of the win at Bedford.

Middleton opts for a five forwards and two backs split on the replacements bench. Darren Crompton will make his 200th league appearance for Bristol if he features against the green and whites.

Bristol Rugby XV: Sean Marsden; George Watkins, Jack Tovey, Ben Mosses, Matt Williams; Tristan Roberts, Louis Silver; Mark Irish, Rhys Lawrence, Jason Hobson, Mariano Sambucetti, Roy Winters, Josh Ovens, James Merriman, Iain Grieve (c).

Replacements: Ross Johnston, Darren Crompton, Wayne Thompson, Dan Montagu, Marco Mama, Tom Slater, Jon Goodridge.
