The win lifts Devon 1 ½ game points above cross-Tamar rivals Cornwall, who pipped them 8-7 in the league opener at Mullion in March.

Adam Bridgewater’s side bounced back on home turf against Mike Darby’s visiting Gloucestershire thanks to a strong singles display.

After squaring the morning foursomes 2 ½ - 2 ½ Devon won seven of the 10 afternoon singles to power home.

Next month Gloucestershire return to league action against Wiltshire, who edged past Cornwall 8-7 at Cumberwell Park two weeks ago. That match will take place at Bowood.

Devon’s next league match is away to Somerset at Enmore in July – following June’s South West Counties Championship Week at Cumberwell Park.
