Cornwall and Devon off the 2012 Channel League Golf season with a thriller at Mullion Golf Club.
The home side - captained by Bude & North Cornwall's Steve Rickard - eventually won 8-7 in a match that went down to the wire.
Rickard said: “As the overall result suggests it was nip and tuck with some very exciting finishes.
“There was a bit of a breeze which made it testing but that only pushed people to play better.”
New Devon player-captain Adam Bridgewater said: “Like Steve said it was a very close and exciting match.
“We were 2-0 down in the foursomes but then won the next three to lead 3-2.
“We won the first singles match and halved the next couple and I thought ‘we need another three points from the last seven and we have won this’. We came close but it didn’t happen.”
