NATIONAL COUNTIES TROPHY Semi-final draw and venues

Finchampstead and Great & Little Tew Cricket Club have been chosen as the venues for the National Counties Trophy semi-finals on Sunday August 7. 

Defending champions Berkshire will take on Dorset at Finchampstead Park with Oxfordshire hosting Cumbria at Ledwell Road in Great Tew.

NATIONAL COUNTIES TROPHY quarter-finals day

NCCA-Logo MasterAll-rounder Sam Griffiths will make his first appearance for Wales NC in four years in today’s National Counties Trophy quarter-final against defending champions Berkshire at the Falkland club in Newbury. 

Griffiths, who plays his club cricket for Neath, was a regular for Wales between 2012 and 2018 but family commitments have since ruled him out of selection.

NCCA-Logo MasterExperienced campaigner Brad Wadlan is set to make his first appearance in three years for Wales NC as they attempt to reach the National Counties Trophy final for the first time. 

Wales host Trophy holders Berkshire at Port Talbot today in their first semi-final since they were beaten by Bedfordshire at Dunstable in 1996. (rain delay, now set for 1325 start, weather-permitting)

NCCA-Logo MasterJonny Cater will have twin aims when Oxfordshire host Suffolk in the quarter-finals of the National Counties Trophy at Banbury today: to take his side one step closer to a second title of the season and to improve his prospects of becoming the competition’s Most Valuable Player.

NATIONAL COUNTIES TROPHY quarter final nail biter

NCCA-Logo MasterThe remaining five places in the quarter-finals of the National Counties Trophy will be up for grabs in a fascinating final round of group matches today – weather-permitting. 

Cumbria, Cambridgeshire and Wales NC all qualified for the last eight last weekend. Cumbria and Cambridgeshire, the only unbeaten sides in the competition, will secure home advantage in the quarter-finals on July 18 if they can beat Shropshire at Netherfield and Norfolk at Peterborough respectively.

Banbury’s White Post Road ground has been confirmed as the venue for Oxfordshire’s National Counties Trophy quarter-final against Suffolk on Sunday July 17. 

The game was the only one of the quarter-final ties without a confirmed venue after the quarter-final draw was made earlier this week.

NCCA-Logo MasterA maiden Trophy century from Matt Golding helped Devon to a 14 runs National Counties Cricket win over Cornwall at Redruth. 

Golding converted his maiden half century into three figures and shared a third wicket partnership of 173 with Matt Thompson (80).
