The start of the new hockey league season is almost upon us and most clubs have resumed training.
With all league hockey starting next month I thought it may be good to catch up with clubs across South Wales and South West England to report your pre-season activities, whether it’s friendly fixtures, results or initially where and when you train.

Yorkshire play Staffordshire today for the 2012 English Boys county team title at Cotswold Hills Golf Club in Gloucestershire.
Both teams have – as anticipated – won their opening two matches with pre-tournament favourites Yorkshire overcoming Devon 6-3 yesterday despite resilient back-to-back wins for Ryan Pope and Jacob Tinsley.

The entire Jolly’s Drinks Cornwall Cricket League programme was again washed out on Monday to complete a miserable, wet blank holiday weekend for Cornish club cricketers.
It was the second occasion in three days that rain stopped all play. The last time a whole programme was washed out - before Saturday - was July 11, 2009.

Torquay United skipper Lee Mansell is hoping for third time lucky as the Gulls mount another League Two promotion bid.
United have suffered play-off heartbreak in the last two seasons but midfield ace Mansell – outstanding in the 4-2 win over Rochdale – is backing Martin Ling’s new-look yellows to go one better this term.
