The start of a new football season always feels a bit special – but with all that’s happened this year, the 2020-21 campaign is even more eagerly anticipated.Lovers of local football have been unable to watch league games since March, when the 2019-20 season was brought to an abrupt end by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Bodmin are likely to be among the title contenders in South West Peninsula Premier West this season but they were well beaten on the opening night of the campaign at Lux Park. Liskeard, inspired by a great defensive display from Dylan Peel and an all-action performance from striker Tom Cleveland, recovered from a nervy start to finish as deserved winners.
