Plymouth player-coach James Shanahan makes his first Albion start against Nottingham in tomorrow's British & Irish Cup opener at Brickfields (1945).
Head coach Shanahan - a late replacement in last Friday's 22-20 Championship defeat by London Scottish - takes over from top points scorer Dan Mugford at fly half.

Dave Lewis makes his first Exeter Chiefs start against former club Gloucester in today's top Aviva Premiership clash at Kingsholm (1400).
The scrum-half debuts as Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter makes four changes to the Exeter starting XV which lost 21-9 at home to defending champions Leicester Tigers.

Fly half Angus Sinclair and utility back Mike Pope make their first Championship starts for Cornish Pirates against Moseley under lights at the Mennaye Field tonight (1945).
Australian Sinclair previously played for hometown side East Suburbs in Sydney, while Pope also featured for his hometown club, Bournemouth, before representing Taunton Titans and Exeter Chiefs Braves as well as University of Exeter. Both players are 23 years old.

Jamie Davies, who joined Albion from Cardiff RFC in summer, makes his league debut on the left wing having recovered from injury.

As well as some cracking national league matches, today also marks the start of the 2013-14 men's regional Davis Wood Hockey League season across South Wales and South West England.
There is also a full progamme of matches in the West Club's Women's Hockey League which resumed last weekend with games in Premier One, Premier 2 A - Chippenham beat Newent 2-0 - and Petroc Division 1.
