Four years ago Millbrook AFC were having to go around the local community and social media with a begging bowl as they stood on the brink of extinction.

They needed help to pay urgent bills and it is no exaggeration to say the donations they received kept the South West Peninsula League club afloat.

Millbrook are hoping tomorrow’s FA Vase third round tie at United Services Portsmouth – the biggest game in the Cornish club’s history - survives the rain forecast in the next 24 hours.

That’s because, should it be postponed, the FA has ruled that the tie would have to be played on the following Saturday, Boxing Day.
