Werrington Cricket Club won the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League despite losing their final match by two runs at Grampound Road CC.
Road made 214-9 and Werrington were 212 all out. On reaching 125 runs Werrington got the six bonus points they required for the title and championship celebrations could begin.

Werrington CC remain top of the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League after beating Newquay CC by four wickets in a remarkable game at the Sports Centre.
Alex Smeeth took 7-26 to skittle the home side out for 40. Werrington lost six wickets in reaching the target.

Today will be another day “like no other” for experienced manager Martyn Rogers as Tiverton Town tackle Plymouth Parkway AFC in the FA Cup preliminary round at a packed Bolitho Park, behind a tree-lined drive in a city suburb.
“I love the FA Cup, it’s a great competition” says the 60-year-old Bristolian with a sparkle in his eye and the enthusiasm of a teenager.
