Semi final-bound Somerset Rebels underlined top place in the South Group with a 52-44 home League Cup win over Plymouth Devils last night.
Somerset stormed into a 20-4 lead following 5-1 maximums in the first four races.
Devils countered with Ben Barker and Ryan Fisher taking six-point wins on tactical rides in heats five and seven.
Plymouth’s former Rebel Cory Gathercole suffered mechanical problems in his first two races but was unbeaten in his final three.
The teams meet again tonight when Plymouth open their Premier League programme at St Boniface Arena (1930).
