BOWLS Torquay's Tolchard national singles champion

The 26-year-old from Torquay defeated Lincolnshire’s Amy Gowshall 21-5 in the final to secure the title for the second time, following her first national singles success in 2015.
Tolchard was also a Women’s National Fours Championship winner last week, ensuring both she and Kings, Torquay Bowling Club teammate Natalie Chestney completed the ‘big five’ (Junior Singles, Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours).
In the singles, Tolchard beat defending champion Kirsty Richards 21-12 in the quarter-final and Nottinghamshire’s Sandra Maguire 21-8 in the semis.
Cleethorpes’ Gowshall defeated Oxfordshire’s Caroline Campion to reach the final.
