BOWLS Devon stars win women's national fours title

Devon’s Sophie Tolchard, Kelly Atkinson, Lorraine Hackett and Natalie Chestney have won the Women’s National Fours Championship at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.The Kings (Torquay) Bowling Club fab four defeated Emily Ferguson, Sandy Hazell, Wendy King and Honnor from UK Paper (Sittingbourne) BC Kent 23-13.
Of the eight players that featured in the final, Atkinson is the only one yet to gain international honours, as Tolchard, Chestney, Hazell, King and Honnor have all achieved Commonwealth Games honours for England.
In the semi-finals Devon defeated Dukeries BC, Nottinghamshire whilst Kent triumphed against Parkway BC, Huntingdonshire.
The women's national four championship is sponsored by Dorset Bowls Resort.
