SWSN GUIDES Track your favourite team on twitter

official twitter logo copyright & courtesy twitter.comOn winter match days last season I decided it would be great to tweet shout-outs to the south west Football League teams I track on twitter.

Runs along the rossi theory of "seemed like a good idea at the time".

At first most teams tweeted back and all was good.

Eventually it was usually left to Cheltenham Town press officer James Brown, Yeovil Town reporter and tweeter Chris Sweet or Martin Baker at Ciderspace to return or retweet the SWSN shout-out, which will always be appreciated. Kind folk.

However maybe my other "team" mates saw the writing on the wall ... or were just plain busy. Fair play.

In truth they were ahead of the game.

By the time this season kicked off and the @swsportsnews following had increased ten-fold I realised tweeting about the wide-ranging teams I tend to keep an eye on during a match was becoming a whole different ball game.

My press box pals had obviously dealt with this when their top teams were garnering thousands - upon thousands - of followers.

As I like to think SWSN can deal in solutions I have started to put up guides to the football, hockey and rugby teams I try to track during the week ... and when I am not too busy on a match day!

The aim is to expand these guides to take in all the tweeting teams – from all disciplines across the region – that track @swsportsnews and make being keeper, sweeper, prop forward and spinner of this growing sporting giant more worthwhile as every game goes by.

I've started, so I will  finish . . . it might just take extra time.

In the meantime thanks for tweeting, appreciate your follows and if you spot any errors in the twitter guides to your club as they go up please forgive me and feel free to tweet me!
