NATIONAL 3SW Collier back for Avonmouth's tough test

avonmouth old boys rfc club crestAvonmouth Old Boys RFC aim to turn the tables on National Three South West leaders London Irish Amateurs Wild Geese tomorrow (The Avenue 1500).

The sides have experienced contrasting fortunes since winning promotion, with Irish Amateurs – from Sunbury-on-Thames – winning all seven of their opening fixtures following a 42-7 win at Amersham & Chiltern.

After seven defeats, Bristol club Avonmouth prop up the table ahead of their toughest test of the season.

The 'mouth - led by front row skipper Grant Britton - will take confidence from coming closest to their first win of the season, last Saturday's 12-6 home defeat by fourth placed Exmouth.

Mouth recall utility back Gary Collier at 12 as centre Sam Thompson (hamstring) is ruled out by injury along with fly half Matt Belbin (ankle) so Joe Wearne starts at 10.

Exmouth return home to the Imperial Ground and a Devon derby against Barnstaple, who also won last Saturday, 25-12 against Chippenham at Pottington Road. The Devon derby kicks off at 1430.
