FIT-AGAIN LOCKE SAILS INTO PIRATES CENTRE

cornish pirates rugby logoCornish Pirates will be keen to get back on track in the RFU Championship at Nottingham tonight (Meadow Lane, 1945).

Pirates suffered their first Championship defeat of the season when they lost 34-24 to Bedford Blues at the Mennaye Field last Sunday.

Nottingham were also beaten last time out in the Championship, 18-15 at Bristol last Friday, although both sides bounced back with midweek British & Irish Cup wins.

Pirates Ceiron Thomas and Jonny Bentley are ruled out by injury so full back Rob Cook starts at fly-half and winger Wes Davies sports the number 15 shirt. Fit-again Drew Locke returns to partner Grant Pointer in the centre.

Cornish Pirates forwards coach Ian Davies said: "We had a brutal review following our performance against Bedford, as we were all disappointed to lose and especially at home. It will be tough at Nottingham, as it always is, but we'll be going there looking to show an improvement on last week."

Cornish Pirates: W. Davies, R. McAtee, G. Pointer, D. Locke, D. Doherty, R. Cook, G. Cattle (capt), B. Cowan, P. Burgess, C. Morgan, I. Nimmo, L. McGlone, R. Brits, R. Elloway, P. Andrew.
