Free scoring centre Jonathan Joseph has renewed his contract at Bath Rugby committing his future to the second placed Aviva Premiership championship chasers.
Joseph, 23, has already scored seven tries in 15 games so far this season.
The former London Irish flyer and Millfield School pupil has thrived in the attack-minded Bath back line, forming a dynamic partnership with Kyle Eastmond.
Piercing runs, impactful breaks and strong defence have been noticed just as much as his tries, earning Joseph a recall to the England squad as injury cover ahead of this year’s QBE Autumn Internationals.
Derby-born Joseph made his England Test debut against South Africa in summer 2012 and last played for his country against Argentina in June 2013, the year he switched to Bath from the Exiles.
He says: “I feel I’ve really developed as a player since I’ve been here at Bath.
“With the help of the great coaches here I’ve added more elements to my skillset, so I definitely wanted to stay here.”
Bath Rugby head coach Mike Ford said: “JJ is an incredibly talented young player, who is on the brink of breaking into the England squad, and deservedly so. He has been on fantastic form for us, providing a real threat in our back line and his defence is international class too. He’s matured as a player over the last year or so, and we’re delighted he’s staying with us.”
