Gordano beat Old Bristolians 31-7 in last night's 2012 Somerset Vase final at wet Weston-super-Mare RFC.
Lock Matt Rollings scored Gordano’s first try from close range, converted by fly-half Joe Rowsall, before Ashley Cotterall winged in down the right to make it 12-0.
Flanker Mike Yandell sneaked over for Gordano’s third, converted by Rowsall, but the try of the night was scored by Old Bristolians on the stroke of half time.
Winger Oli Pool sprinted practically the length of the pitch and outpaced the retreating defence to finally get the Gloucester Premier champions on the scoreboard.
Scrum half Jon McManus added the extras.
Two late close-range tries from Matt Wilshire plus another conversion from Rowsall completed the scoring with skipper Aaron French named ‘man of the match’
Old Bristolians, who will be playing in Western Counties North next season, had already lifted the Charles Saunders Bristol Combination Vase.
