WOMENS HOCKEY Clifton edge past Gloucester in cup

Premier Division Clifton are through to the Investec Women’s Cup second round following yesterday’s 2-1 home win over unbeaten Conference West side Gloucester City.
Emily Atkinson and Joie Leigh scored for Clifton, who now visit Maidenhead in the next round.
Conference West sides Buckingham, Firebrands and Taunton Vale received first round byes along with West Clubs Women's Hockey League promotion hopefuls Team Bath Buccaneers.
The Women’s Cup second round takes place on Sunday October 21.
Second placed Gloucester will seek to maintain their unbeaten league start in Saturday's Women's Conference West top of the table clash against leaders Buckingham (St Peter's School, 1200).
Selected second round ties Buckingham v Oxford Hawks, Firebrands v Phoenix (Essex) Maidenhead v Clifton, Team Bath Buccaneers v Bowdon Hightown, Wimbledon v Taunton Vale.
