WOMENS GOLF Gloucestershire at English County Finals

It will be the South West women's champions' sixth successive appearance at the national county finals and this week they are set to include the tournament’s youngest player in 13-year-old Ffion Tynan, the English U14 girls champion.

South Western Counties Golf Association shieldThe South Western Counties Golf Association Championship tees off with three cracking derby matches over the Church Course at St Enodoc Golf Club today.

Recently crowned Cornwall champion Joe Cruise – from host club St Enodoc – and Devon ace Jake Burnage (Saunton GC) get the week-long tournament underway at 0815 when they meet in the top of the order singles match as the cross-Tamar derby rivals clash on day one.

SW GOLF Devon ace Mullen walks tall in Cup victory

JIMMY MULLEN photographed by Royal North Devon GC professional/coach Michael Wilson before 2015 Walker CupRoyal North Devon amateur ace Jimmy Mullen won all four of his Walker Cup matches as Great Britain & Ireland cruised to a 16½-9½ win over the USA at Royal Lytham.

The 21-year-old walked tall among the best international amateur golfers either side of the Atlantic, winning both his singles matches and two foursomes games with Ashley Chesters.
