Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe makes Bury's promotion-winning playmaker Danny Mayor second summer signing.

Mayor, 28, was also being courted by Ipswich Town and Tranmere Rovers but opts to team up with former Shakers promotion-winning boss Lowe at ambitious Argyle.

Leyland-born Mayor began his career at his nearest "hometown" club Preston. He turned pro with North End in 2008 and follows swiftly in the South West-bound tracks of former Walsall midfielder Joe Edwards, who joined Argyle last week.

Mayor's 12 goals and 12 assists for Bury earned him recognition in last season's League Two Team of the Season at 10.
