PLYMOUTH ARGYLE FC 2016 retained list

Plymouth Argyle Football Club crest PLYMOUTH ARGYLE have offered new contracts to 13 of the players who took the greens to the brink of promotion.

Derek Adams' retained list includes deals for six of the side who began Monday's League 2 Play-Off Final at Wembley.

Three of the starting line-up – League 2 player of the year Graham Carey, Jake Jervis and Gary Sawyer – have already triggered an extension to their existing deal, while loanees Hiram Boateng and Jamille Matt have returned to their parent club.

Two more loan players who came on as substitutes in the 2-0 defeat by AFC Wimbledon – Jordon Forster and Craig Tanner – have also returned to their parent clubs.

Reading forward Tanner featured in 50 of the Pilgrims 54 games during the campaign, scoring six goals, while teenage midfielder Boateng played 30 times in two temporary spells from Crystal Palace, scoring twice and being voted the Pilgrims’ Young Player of the Season.

Scottish defender Forster made 13 appearances on loan from Hibernian and Fleetwood Town forward Matt scored seven goals in 12 starts.

Players offered a new deal now have a month to inform the club of their intentions.
