Bristol City have made two significant loan signings ahead of Saturday’s League 1 match at Scunthorpe.
Former Chelsea midfielder George Saville, 21, has joined City on a 93-day deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Wigan defender James Tavernier, 23, will spend the rest of the season on loan with Steve Cotterill’s promotion-chasing reds.
Both new signings are included in City’s matchday Saturday squad with Saville sporting the no 12 shirt, Tavernier 24.
Second placed City travel north buoyed by Tuesday’s 2-0 home FA Cup replay win over League 1 rivals Doncaster Rovers and target man Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ double hot on the heels of last Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Notts County.
