John Sheridan's reign as new Plymouth Argyle manager kicks off at home to Morecambe today (Home Park 1500).
It promises to be another captivating chapter for the Pilgrims and their self-proclaimed Green Army of supporters.
Former Republic of Ireland World Cup star Sheridan, 48, was at Port Vale to see Argyle lose 4-0 and slip to second bottom in League Two last Saturday, before his appointment was officially rubber-stamped the following day.
Sheridan's Argyle arrival – revealed exclusively by South West Sports News on Friday January 4 – has had an immediate uplifting effect on the squad at Home Park during the past, busy week.
In a few hours time thousands of Argyle fans will see if that new injection of confidence can be transferred to the playing field.
Sheridan's side is buoyed by the loan arrival of Ipswich Town's Republic of Ireland Under 21 striker Ronan Murray and experienced central defender Guy Branston, who celebrated his 34th birthday in midweek by teaming up with the greens.
Former Chesterfield and Oldham boss Sheridan will utilise the on-hand experience of another former top midfielder Gary Owers – already at Home Park on the youth coaching staff - as he bids to turn around Argyle's fortunes.
Owers, 44, played for Sunderland and Bristol City as well as being assistant manager at Aldershot and managing Bath City, Forest Green Rovers and Weston-super-Mare.
He is set to be Sheridan's right-hand man at Plymouth.
