Torquay skipper Lee Mansell is targeting automatic promotion to League One.
Gulls’ player of the year Mansell is fully focused on a last-day win at relegation-haunted Hereford today, when third placed Crawley visit Accrington.
Torquay are level on points with Crawley going into the final 90 minutes of the regular season.
The 13-goal midfield United captain said: “Hereford did us a favour by winning 3-0 at Crawley last week and I am sure all our fans will become Accrington supporters for the day.
“But first we have got to do our job and win at Hereford, when the boot will be on the other foot.”
Torquay boss Martin Ling admitted: “We were a point behind Crawley, now we are level on points with them and Southend have also come into the reckoning.
“We have gone out all season to enjoy our football and play with a smile on our faces and that’s what we will continue to do - we could win and still not go straight up if Crawley win as well. But let's just see where a win would take us . . . ”
