Cornwall Cricket choughCornwall’s cricketers took three late wickets last night to take the upper hand in their Minor Counties Championship game against Cheshire at Truro CC.

Earlier in the day the hosts had been dismissed for 245 with 18 overs unused. Cheshire were reduced to 94-5 at stumps and trail by 151 runs.

Play continues at Boscawen Park at 1100 today.

Cornwall Over 50s reached the national ECB Over 50s quarter-finals after beating Oxfordshire at Pencarrow by 47 runs. They now face a trip to Yorkshire next weekend.

Penzance are through to the Vitality Club T20 regional fFinal. They beat host club Exmouth by seven wickets and Bristol by 79 runs to qualify for a home tie against Sussex Champions Roffey. The date is to be confirmed as Roffey have a National Club quarter-final tie next weekend.

In Cornwall County Division 1 yesterday Roche beat Lanhydrock by six wickets and there were Women’s League wins for Launceston, Penzance and Redruth.
