Paul Cricket Club claimed their first Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League win of the season in one of two top flight matches to beat the rain.
Paul dodged the downpours to beat Grampound Road by eight runs while Falmouth defeated St Just by 16 runs after making 132-9.
At Hutchens Park, Paul reached 185 in the final over. In reply Grampound Road were all out for 177, Alex May on 55 not out.
At Falmouth, St Just were dismissed for 116 with George Popperwell and Justin Stephens taking four wickets each.
Truro were frustrated by the weather at Boscawen Park after bowling Camborne out for just 72. Rob Harrison and Tom Sharp shared six wickets. Truro were 11-1 when rain prevented any more play with play eventually called off after seven o’clock.
Only 20 overs were possible at Callington where the home side were 54-2 against East Cornwall rivals Werrington before a mid-afternoon downpour stopped play.
Troon against St Austell was cancelled due to an unplayable Treslothan Road pitch.
Only two County One games finished .
Perranarworthal (67) lost by nine wickets at Hayle while Penzance (190) beat visitors Gorran (170).
Redruth made 9-1 at home to Roche and St Austell seconds were 89-2 at home to Newquay before play was called off.
Beacon v Luckett and Ludgvan v Wadebridge were cancelled.
• Cornwall Cricket League Division Two West side Stithians beat Roche by five wickets in yesterday’s National Village Cup Devon & Cornwall group final.
Stithians - skippered by Marin Strick - now travel to Wiltshire side Goatacre in the next round.
Goatacre are former winners of the national competition.
