HAWKEY CUP LATEST: SEMI FINAL DRAW

Cornwall cricket crestThe Hawkey Cup semi final draw pits St Austell against Gorran at Wheal Eliza and Callington against holders Werrington at New Road on Wednesday June 13 (1800).

Paul Smith smashed a match-winning boundary off the final ball as Werrington beat east Cornwall visitors Looe-Menheniot at Ladycross.

Menheniot-Looe made 98 for 8 and in a dramatic quarter final finish Werrington (101-8) won by two wickets thanks to Smith (22no).

Cadan Hitchens (3-17) was the pick of the visitors bowlers while Joby Wolfenden-Brown (3-32) skipper Ben Smeeth (2-0) and John Humphries (2-6) played their part for Werrrington.

St Austell (170) won by 59 runs at Wadebridge (111) where Scott Barrott took 4-15, while Cornwall batsman Matt Robins hit a century for Callington in their 67-run win over Liskeard (133-8).

Opener Robins scored 108 as Callington raced to 200 in 20 overs.

County one side Gorran (124; David Hoskings 4-22) beat premier visitors Grampound Road (122-7; Joe Semple 3-31) by two runs.
