Five English players - including three amateur aces from the South West - have been included in the Great Britain & Ireland team to face America in this year's Walker Cup at Royal Liverpool on September 7-8. Harry Hall (West Cornwall, Cornwall), Thomas Plumb (Yeovil, Somerset) Tom Sloman (Taunton & Pickeridge, Somerset) Alex Fitzpatrick (Hallamshire, Yorkshire) and Conor Gough (Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire) have been listed in the team while Ben Schmidt (Rotherham, Yorkshire) and Ben Jones (Northamptonshire County, Northamptonshire) have been named as first and second reserves.
