Today is the start of the new 2014 league season for thousands of club cricketers across South West England.
The Cornwall Cricket League was due to knock-in last Saturday.

Cornwall continue their Tamar Cup defence against Devon on familiar ground for 11 of the home squad of 27 at Launceston RFC tonight (1930).
The match will have special significance for former Launceston, Bath, Sale, Plymouth Albion and England hooker Graham Dawe, 54 as it is his first match as head coach of Cornwall ahead of next month’s Bill Beaumont Cup county championship campaign. Dawe will be assisted by Cornwall U20 coach Ian Morgan.

Plymouth Argyle boss John Sheridan has set his sights on promotion from League Two next season.
Sheridan said: “I have got improve on this season and there’s only one place we can finish if we are eighth, ninth or whatever this season. We have got to finish in the top seven next season.

England golf international Jimmy Mullen will be among the favourites to win this weekend’s 72 hole West of England Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship over his home course at Royal North Devon Golf Club.
The three-day annual event alternates between Saunton and RND and historically attracts a top class amateur field to North Devon.
