Cumberland will face favourites Berkshire in the Minor Counties Trophy final at Wormsley on August 28 after they enjoyed very different passages through yesterday's semi-finals.

Berkshire progressed to the final with a four wickets win over Wiltshire at Finchampstead.

Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe admits his pacesetting League Two Pilgrims are still a “work in progress” despite getting off to a flying start.

Lowe’s Argyle followed up their best ever opening day away league win, 3-0 at Crewe, with a solid 1-0 home win over Colchester United in front of 10,542 at windswept Home Park.

Ryan Lowe’s League Two pace setters Plymouth Argyle made it back to back wins with a hard fought 1-0 home victory over Colchester United.

Midfielder Antoni Sarcevic fired Argyle into a 57^th minute lead after the game opened up against Colchester.

Paul Wotton's first competitive game in charge of Southern League Premier South new boys Truro City will be away to Met Police tomorrow.

Former Plymouth Argyle assistant manager Wotton (pictured) was appointed new White Tigers boss on a two-year deal at the start of July and will be assisted by former Truro City striker Stewart Yetton, who also started his career at hometown club Plymouth.

Defending champions Berkshire made it four wins from four in this season’s Minor Counties Championship and 12 in a row over three seasons as they swept Shropshire aside by 241 runs at Shifnal.

The recipe for Berkshire’s success was again simple but effective – bat long in both innings and leave the bowlers with plenty of time to take 20 wickets.
