Exeter Diamonds got their Premier Squash League campaign off to a sparkling start following a 3-2 opening group B win at UWE Bristol.
Frenchman and former Bristol player Mathieu Castagnet clinched victory for Exeter with a 62-minute win over Irishman Arthur Gaskin.
The South West clash was a marathon match, lasting four and half hours.
Bristol's Mohamed El Shorbagy beat top-ranked Finn Olli Tuominen 3-2 in the final match of the night, which concluded at 11.30.
