Bath City winger Scott Murray claimed his fifth goal in five games to clinch a vital 3-2 victory for the Romans at home to fellow Football Conference strugglers Newport County.

The win moves basement side Bath within five points of 20^th placed County with 20 games remaining.

Adam Connolly and on-loan Hereford United striker Sean Canham were both on target for Adie Britton’s Romans as they bounced back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 at half time.

Aberdeen-born former Bristol City winger Murray, 37, made it 3-1 in the 47^th minute in front of 1,147 at Twerton Park.

Bath host 14^th placed Braintree Town on Saturday (1500).
