Bath City winger Scott Murray claimed his fifth goal in five games to clinch a vital 3-2 victory for the Romans at home to fellow Football Conference strugglers Newport County.
The win moves basement side Bath within five points of 20th placed County with 20 games remaining.
Adam Connolly and on-loan Hereford United striker Sean Canham were both on target for Adie Britton’s Romans as they bounced back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 at half time.
Aberdeen-born former Bristol City winger Murray, 37, made it 3-1 in the 47th minute in front of 1,147 at Twerton Park.
Bath host 14th placed Braintree Town on Saturday (1500).
