RUGBY SHORTS Bristol and Cornwall Cup draws

It's a case of déjà vu following rugby union cup quarter final draws in Cornwall and Bristol, with last season's finalists pitted against each another at this term's last eight stage.

The CRFU Tribute Cornwall Cup quarter final pitches last season’s winners Wadebridge Camels against St Austell in the last eight.

The draw for this season’s county cup was made by London Cornish director of rugby Dickon Moon at Redruth RFC, during the Reds’ 36-19 National Two South win over Canterbury.

Tribute Cornwall Cup quarter finals Camborne v Truro, Bude v Penryn, Newquay Hornets v St Ives, St Austell v Wadebridge Camels.

Tribute Cornwall Clubs Cup quarter finals Camborne SoM v St. Day, Perranporth v Stithians, Redruth Albany v Veor, St. Agnes v Helston.

• Bristol Combination Cup holders Avonmouth Old Boys host a repeat of last season’s final when they play Thornbury in this season’s quarter finals on Saturday November 10.

The 'mouth won last season's final 23-15.

Bristol Combination Cup quarter finals Avonmouth OBRFC v Thornbury, Dings Crusaders v Clevedon, Old Redcliffians v Cleve, Clifton, bye.

• A timely reminder that training nights for Avonmouth Old Boys are now Mondays and Thursdays (Barracks Lane 1900).

• Clevedon RFC and Chard RFC are set to fix a new date for their Tribute South West One West match – with November 10 a possibility – following Saturday’s postponement due to a waterlogged pitch at Coleridge Vale Playing Fields.

• London Cornish RFC are celebrating their golden jubilee this season.
