RUGBY: MCATEE WINGS IN FOR DUCHY DECIDER

Cornwall RFU crestCornwall have been forced to change to their winning line-up ahead of Saturday’s eagerly anticipated RFU Bill Beaumont Cup Division One decider away to Hertfordshire (Hertford RFC, Ware 1400).

Cornish Pirates wing Rhodri McAtee comes into the Duchy XV as London Scottish centre Ryan Westren (groin) is ruled out by injury confirmed Cornwall head coach Dave "Benji" Thomas to SWSN.

Plymouth Albion’s Steve Johns switches inside to partner Launceston’s Lewis Paterson in the centre.

Cornwall kicked off their 2012 county championship campaign with a 23-16 win over Gloucestershire at Redruth while group favourites Herts hammered North Midlands 52-8 at Woollams, St Albans scoring eight tries in the process.

Nevertheless Cornwall’s first win over Gloucestershire for five seasons has lifted the hopes of the travelling Trelawny’s Army as their heroes try and avenge last season's heart-breaking 25-18 home defeat to finalists Herts.

Coach Thomas said: “I was pleased with our performance against Gloucestershire, we were up against a much bigger pack and our forwards played very well.

“Last season we had no players from Launceston available to us because of league commitments so we are much more at full-strength this year.

“Herts are a pretty powerful outfit and have a number of Saracens and Old Albanian players in the side.

“We are not going to be overawed, we’ve got a job to do, we’ve trained hard this week and we’re looking for a result on Saturday.

“We’ll certainly go there and give it our best shot.”
