rugby is back Rugby is back and with it packs of passionate players, coaches, teams, supporters and volunteers.

We are more excited about this rugby union season than ever and not just because of the start of the World Cup in less than two weeks.

This will be Ross’s first full season full-time on the South West Sports News hub and the team is expanding with his son James winging in as a season-long loan capture.

With other new additions in the offing South West Sports News hopes to continue to bring you the best rugby union coverage ever.

We will continue to promote your favourite sport as best we can on all platforms and on the website are sticking with our dedicated fixtures lists for leagues, which have proved massively popular with thousands upon thousands of hits, week in, week out.

At the tail end of last season we started to add venues to all dedicated fixtures lists and this is something we will expand upon this term so that everyone gets to know where teams play as well as who they are playing.

Again it’s all about being pro-active and working as a team and for the seventh season of asking we implore you to tweet us with your confirmed kick off times if your club is playing in level 5 (ie National League 3 South West) or below.

It’s all about passing along the oval information ball.

Pre-season fixtures this year have already had 3000 hits and we crossed the 10,000 hits tryline on #SWrugby training nights in midsummer!

To say egg chasers are enthusiastic is an understatement…

The World Cup can act as a massive advert for rugby union… it’s up to all of us to ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the sport and keep the rugby community oval ball rolling into the next decade…

We say #rugby4all

Game on!
