The knock-on effect is set to come into full effect today as 10 teams bid for five promotion places via the end of season play-offs.
Devon side Exmouth host Dorking at the Imperial Ground seeking the victory that will elevate the Cockles to National League Two South after finishing runners-up to London Irish Wild Geese in Three South West.
Exmouth finished the regular season with 22 wins and 107 points, Dorking had 23 wins and 105 points, one win more but one point less than National League 3 London and South East champions Bishop's Stortford.
South West One East runners-up Old Centralians also finished the season with 23 wins from 26 matches... and five points adrift of table-topping Bracknell.
Tomorrow Gloucester's Old Cents host Cornish club Camborne, who finished five points adrift of South West One West champions Old Redcliffians of Bristol.
Old Reds, pipped 33-32 in the Somerset Cup final by Weston-super-Mare at Bridgwater two days ago, can now look forward to next season's National League 3 South West clashes against the Seasiders. Before then Old Reds feature in Thursday's Bristol Combination Cup final, against Dings Crusaders see fixtures.
Either Camborne - who ended the regular season on a 12-match winning run-in - or Old Cents will join them in National League Two next term.
Oxfordshire side Grove, runners-up to Buckingham in Southern Counties North, host Trowbridge, runners-up to Wiltshire rivals Devizes in Southern Counties South.
Bath's Midsomer Norton, runners-up to Chew Valley in Somerset Premier, face Frampton Cotterell, Gloucester Premier runners-up to runaway champions Drybrook, at Norton Down Playing Fields.
Stithians, runners-up to runaway Cornwall One champions Veor, are due to host Plymstock Albion Oaks at Church Road.
Oaks beat Salcombe 30-13 last Saturday to finish runners-up to Devon One champions University of Exeter.
• North Devon's Bideford, runners-up to St Austell in Western Counties West, play a waiting game to see who they meet in the play-off for a South West One place.
Wells and Bristol's Barton Hill, who both play their final Western Counties North matches today, vie for runners-up spot behind promoted champions Hornets RFC of Weston-super-Mare.
