RUGBY UNION Spotlight on National Two South

Henley Hawks RFC continued their flying start in National Two South by scoring six tries to beat Lydney RFC 41-15 at Dry Leas.

Redruth RFC and Hartpury College RFC played their part in a second round of high-scoring matches - an average of 65 points was scored per game – by also notching second wins.

Backed by a crowd of 1,140, Adrian Edwards’ Reds beat Cornish rivals Launceston RFC 46-24 at the Recreation Ground. Home fly half Paul Thirlby kicked 21 points from five penalties and three conversions.

Hartpury flanker Ross Moriarty scored a hat-trick in a 48-13 win over Taunton Titans.

It doesn’t get any easier for the Titans – beaten on the opening day by Redruth 25-15 – as next week they host in-form Dings Crusaders RFC, fresh from a 24-14 Bristol derby win over Clifton RFC at Lockleaze.

Dings led for all bar an eight-minute second half spell, with a try from Dave Wheeler and the trusty boot of fly half Mark Woodrow finally settling the issue in Crusaders favour.
