SW HOCKEY ROUND-UP Isca Hockey celebrates centenary

Isca Hockey Club are set to mark their centenary with two days of special matches at the University of Exeter this weekend.
Officials have pulled out all the stops to ensure as many playing members of the Exeter-based blues take part in the centenary celebrations, which start with a youth tournament tomorrow morning at 0900.
The weekend festival of hockey will include club games for men and women, vintage and veteran as well as a charity match.
Isca's newly promoted men's national league side – skippered by Simon Tremlett - will play an Isca Old Boys team at 1515 tomorrow, umpired by Mike Daniel and Andy Harvey.
The 10th game of the day will be between Isca Ladies first team and South Devon side Teign at 1615.
Following a special celebration dinner tomorrow night - when three times former Great Britain Olympic goalkeeper Simon Mason will be guest – there will be another 10 games on Sunday, starting at 0900 and including a men's first team match to mark Isca's first ever game, at Alphington in 1913.
This time around, Isca will face England Hockey League Men's Conference West rivals University of Exeter (start 1515).
• Following their timely Davis Wood Hockey League championship success last season, Tremlett's side begin their 2013-14 Men's Conference West campaign away to University of Birmingham on Saturday September 14.
Isca's first home national league game – after 13 years – will be against Team Bath Buccaneers at the University of Exeter Sports Park on Sunday September 22.
University of Exeter – last season's divisional runners-up to Cardiff – start the new national league term at home to Guildford on September 14 before a trip to face newly-renamed Cardiff Met in week two.
Isca meet University of Exeter for the first time in the Men's Hockey League on Saturday October 26 with the rematch scheduled for Sunday March 9, 2014.
• Isca University commence the Investec Women's Conference West season at home to Oxford Hawks on Saturday September 14 and travel to Bristol Firebrands a week later.
Newly promoted Exe – making a swift return to the national league after winning the West Clubs Women's regional championship – face a tough start at Gloucester City.
Exe –relegated from Conference West in 2012 – host Swansea City on Saturday September 21 in their first home 2013-14 national league game.
• Former Plymouth Marjon ace Giselle Ansley, from South Devon, is in the England Women's squad for the week-long Investec World League tournament, which starts in London tomorrow.
• Ex-University of Exeter top scorer Tom Carson – from Somerset and now playing for Reading – scored his first England senior international goals in a 5-2 friendly defeat by Germany in Manheim. Carson netted twice for England, who beat Germany 3-2 in the return match 24 hours later.
