2012 England Hockey League Men’s Conference West champions Team Bath Buccaneers begin their title defence at Cheltenham (Balcarras School) on Saturday September 15.
Buccs swept to the Conference title last term, winning 15 of their league games, losing just once, to top the table on 47 points, 14 ahead of runners-up University of Birmingham.
Birmingham begin their 2012-2013 Conference campaign away to University of Exeter, whose late Premier Division winning run was not enough to maintain the greens’ top flight status.
Having lost 11 players over the summer including top scorer Tom Carson, University of Exeter – like Bath – are set to bed in a new-look EHL team this term.
Bristol’s Firebrands – promoted as Davis Wood Hockey League champions – face a testing start at improving Cardiff & UWIC, who finished third in the Conference last term.
Wales other men’s national league club Whitchurch – from Cardiff - travel to Fareham on the opening day seeking to improve on last season’s seventh placed EHL MCW finish.

Cardiff & UWIC v Firebrands
Exeter University v University of Birmingham
Cheltenham v Team Bath Buccaneers
