It is the first time Devon – coached by Gary Milne (Woodbury Park) – have won the title, which first teed off in 1986.
Devon won their opening two matches against Kent and Northamptonshire 5-4 and then halved with pre-tournament favourites Lancashire, who last claimed the Boys’ title at Pannal in 2006 while their rivals were all seeking maiden victories.
The event was played in a round robin match play format over the past three days with each individual match decided on the outcome of three foursomes in the morning and six singles in the afternoon. Each county entered a team of seven players with any six of them being eligible to play in both the foursomes and the singles.
