Torquay United signed Colchester United central defender Tom Aldred on loan yesterday but Mark Ellis and Chris Robertson are set to start as the centre back pairing at Port Vale tonight (1945).
Bolton-born Aldred, 21, will act as centre back-up as Brian Saah (groin) is could be ruled out for between 4-6 weeks by injury sustained in the 3-1 Devon derby win over Plymouth Argyle at Plainmoor.
Six foot two Aldred will be in the Vale Park-bound squad and is also eligible for FA Cup duty.
Eunan O’Kane’s fifth yellow card of the term, for celebrating the 35 yard strike that put Torquay 2-0 up against Argyle, rules him out of tonight’s League Two clash with his place likely to be filled by Ian Morris.
Martin Ling's soaring Gulls seek their sixth successive win, their fifth in the league, against the Vale.
