torquay united crestPromotion chasing Torquay United host ninth placed Port Vale seeking to extend their unbeaten League Two run to eight matches with their third win on the trot (Plainmoor 1500).

United boss Paul Buckle waits on the fitness of on-loan Wycombe striker Gavin Tomlin (hamstring), one of the goalscorers in last Saturday's emphatic 3-0 win at Bradford City, which hosited the Gulls up to fifth.

In form Tomlin's replacement at Valley Parade, Billy Kee, also scored after left back Kevin Nicholson fired the Gulls ahead from a trademark free kick.

United - who have won five of their seven unbeaten games - will be without on-loan Morecambe midfielder Craig Stanley, who completes his two-match suspension following today's game.

Boss Buckle has to decide whether to stick with the young trio of Damon Lathrope, Joe Oastler and Eunan O'Kane in the absence of  suspended Stanley.

"Oastler, Lathrope and O'Kane were great at Bradford and I can go with those three again, or two of the three," said Buckle.

"We'll be positive again and leave it until 1.30 before making a decision but, ultimately, we won't change much."
