Six of eight scheduled Hellenic League games were also washed off.
At Plainmoor, the eagerly-anticipated National League South cross-Tamar derby between table toppers Torquay and Truro City survived a late referee's pitch inspection before Jordan Young's 80th minute strike sealed a 1-0 home win for United over their Cornish visitors in front of 5,000-plus fans.
Just over 20 miles west at Erme Valley match referee Lee Roberts made the decision to call off Ivybridge Town's home Western Prem fixture against Wellington at around 1030.
Four other Western Prem fixtures fell foul of relentless rain.
Ivybridge Town general manager Brian Howard confirmed: “The pitch was saturated after recent rain.”
A new date has to be arranged for the restaging of the fixture along with new dates for home fixtures against Brixham and Clevedon Town.
The next home fixture for Ivybridge is not until Saturday February 1 when they host Devon rivals Buckland Athletic.
Weather-permitting Ivybridge now kick off 2025 with a run of five away matches, starting with a visit to Buckland this Saturday, January 4... weather-permitting.
Buckland's home Devon derby against Ilfracombe was another game washed off yesterday.
That fixture is followed by Saturday away days at Street (January 11), Saltash (Jan 18) and Welton (Jan 25) followed by a local derby at Southern Premier Plymouth Parkway in the Devon FA St Luke’s Bowl on Wednesday January 29.
