FA VASE Super South West six through to last 32

Isuzu FaVaselogoSix South West football teams are through to the last 32 of the FA Vase.

Western League premier sides Bridgwater Town, Buckland Athletic and Clevedon Town are joined in today’s fourth round draw by Corsham Town, Hartpury University and Brixham AFC.

Buckland striker Ryan Bush scored a first-half hat-trick in their 3-0 win over Wessex premier Laverstock & Ford. Bush’s first of the afternoon came after 13 minutes, with a left-footed strike across the keeper. He beat the offside trap to double Buckland’s advantage before completing his hat-trick with a sliding finish just before half-time.

Clevedon drew 1-1 with New Milton Town before progressing 5-3 on penalties. A close-range finish from Nathanial Groom after 28 minutes looked to have done the business for the Seasiders but they were denied when Luke Stone levelled from a stoppage time corner.

The game then headed to penalties and after his four teammates had all slotted home from 12 yards, Syd Camper followed suit to confirm Town’s passage into round four.

Brixham and Corsham also won by keeping their cool from the spot.

South West Peninsula East high flyers Brixham drew 1-1 at Wessex premier Shaftesbury before edging through 5-4 on penalties.

Hellenic Premier Corsham won 4-3 on penalties following their goalless draw at league rivals Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Bridgwater United – second in the Western Premier - beat Cribbs, second in the Hellenic Premier, 1-0 on Friday despite being reduced to 10 for the second half.

United took a 49th minute lead through Jack Taylor, heading home a George King cross, and held on to book their spot in the fourth round.

Hellenic One Hartpury University eased to a 7-0 home win over SWPL Bovey Tracey.

Five of the six South West sides were drawn at home in the fourth round.
