NON-LEAGUE PREVIEW Keep an eye on Bath and Torquay

Vanarama National League logoIt’s that time of the week again when we select six stand-out non-League games featuring teams from the region, home or away.

The first games to catch our collective eye are top of the table National League South matches and pretty easily identified as two games to lookout for as they feature sides in the promotion mix.

Jerry Gill’s fifth placed Bath City travel to a third placed Woking side seeking their first league win in five while Gary Johnson’s in-form Torquay United head to fourth placed Wealdstone.

The Gulls have soared since Johnson took over as wing commander. He has yet to suffer defeat and another result could see the yellows enter the top seven for the first time this term.

Southern League sides turn their attention to the realistic road to Wembley and FA Trophy ties.

Possibly the tie of the first qualifying round will be at the Viridor Stadium, where fourth placed Taunton Town host Premier South leaders Weymouth.

Taunton will be anxious to bounce back from their 1-0 FA Cup replay defeat by National League South leaders Billericay, held 2-2 by Rob Dray’s Peacocks a week ago.

Mark Molesley’s Terras suffered an early cup exit but have thrived in the league, losing just once.

Their Trophy tie at Taunton has the ingridients of a classic.

Another all Southern Prem South tie means either Tommy Killick’s Poole or Danny Greaves’ Frome will progress while Steve Thompson’s Dorchester Town – 18th in the Prem - face a tough Trophy test at Division One South table toppers Yate, managed by Paul Britton.

Western League Premier leaders Willand Rovers FC - managed by Russell Jee and David Steele - host Rob Mallet's fifth placed Bradford Town FC seeking their 10th league win in 12 Western Prem games although it could be that the division’s match of the day is at the Hand Stadium, where fourth placed Clevedon Town host unbeaten Westbury United, in second place at the start of play.
