FA CUP UPDATES & UPSETS Regional replay round-up

Banbury United will host Bath City in the in the FA Cup second qualifying round on Saturday September 22 following a 2-0 home replay win over Weymouth.

Steve Claridge’s Salisbury won 3-1 at Yate Town after drawing 1-1 in Wiltshire on Saturday. Chris Shephard (pen) Jake Wannell and Lewis Benson scored for Salisbury, who trailed to a 40th minute Josh Ford opener. The Whites reward is a trip to the Somerset seaside and National League South Weston-super-Mare AFC.

Winchester City are bound for Merthyr in the next round following a 2-1 replay win over Frome Town after extra time. The sides were again locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes, as on Saturday. Tyrell Mitford scored both City goals after Kane Simpson fired Frome ahead in the 23rd minute.

Dorchester Town will head to Martyn Rogers’s Southern Premier rivals Tiverton Town in the next round following a 3-0 Dorset derby replay win over Wimborne at the Avenue and second half goals for Billy Lowes, Aaron Rodriguez and Luke Winsper.

Torquay United will travel to Wessex League Lymington Town following the Linnets 2-1 replay win at Lydney Town courtesy of goals for Ash Jarvis (pen) and Jake King’s 87th minute winner.  Lewis Thomson levelled for Hellenic Premier Lydney on 70 minutes.

It finished goalless between Street and Plymouth Parkway on Saturday but 4-1 to the Devon side in Somerset thanks to goals by Jordan Trott, Mike Smith and Adam Carter 2. Ed Butcher scored a late consolation goal for Street.

Lee Hobbs’ Parkway now travel to NL South Gloucester City on September 22 in search of a bigger cup upset.

2014 FA Vase winners Sholing travel to another NL South side, Slough Town, in qualifying round two following their 1-0 replay win at Poole side Hamworthy United.

Basingstoke head up the Creek to Bristol Manor Farm in the next round following a 2-0 win over Paulton Rovers.
